The Warren Township Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency responsible for the 14.6 square miles and 4,744 residents of the township. The department is composed of one Chief, Two Sergeants, and 5 full-time Patrolmen. The department also has several part-time Patrolmen. Members of the department strive to provide the best service to the residents of Warren Township through community engagement, proactive policing, and constant support for our community.

Chief Benjamin Harrell, a resident of the township, was appointed Chief of Police on October 7th, 2019. Chief Harell has over 35 years in law enforcement, previously serving in the City of Newton Falls Police Department for 5 years, and then 23 years with the City of Warren Police Department. Chief Harrell served in various roles throughout his tenure in the City of Warren, even serving as Traffic Commissioner.

During his tenure, Chief Harrell has overseen the replacement and upgrade to department vehicles and equipment. The use of Body Worn Cameras became mandatory in 2025 thanks to a grant obtained from the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services.
